Understanding Mazzi's Why
We do this because the only option we see for the future of the world is for each of us to learn how to co-create and thrive together. Surviving is primarily focused on self-interested-based winning - without getting in trouble with compliance.
To be a successful sustainable organization of the 21st century, leaders and teams are coming to understand that to thrive together requires a culture lived from the inside out - not forced from the top down into the system of scared humans. |
Thriving is built on integral or holistic based frameworks and models. Thriving is based on strategies and cultures built on sustainability and cooperation. Thriving requires individuals and teams to learn to access their power (versus force) and requires new capacities - individually and collectively.
Nimble, agile and fluid teams and systems are built on an essence of thriving. Thriving is life giving. Thriving together is more than just settling so that a few selected individuals or team members are winning together. The world has many models on how to win together, but very few on how to thrive together.
Accessing power vs force
Power and force are two different, even contradictory concepts, energies or modes of operation. Using force implies one is to go up against something. Using power, on the other hand, implies one is accessing an inner strength, which is in sync with a truth that one not only knows, but has experienced deep within.
History has shown that in the long run, the use of power leads to welcome and effective results, much more so than the use of force. |
In our work we use this distinction between between force and power. When we use the term “force” we are talking about intentionality or a mode of operating (within and without) which comes from a combative, competitive, or dominating place. Force is more active in situations where a person or group of people could, among other things, be fighting to win an argument, competing to secure a client win in a competition, or using language or taking actions that are designed to “make it happen.”
Power, however, comes from within, from a human’s most basic and innermost place. Power can be described to include energy or modes of operation like:
- accessing either feminine or masculine intuition,
- having the willingness and ability to see the larger picture (context or essence versus just seeing content or form),
- caring more for the quality of human relationships than just a caring about obtaining a particular outcome,
- to habitually seek to act while empathizing or connecting with your's and another’s current reality,
- to be a person of kindness and compassion while taking thoughtful actions, or
- allowing, co-creating or holding the space for the unfolding of events versus consistently and aggressively expending energy to dominate, get your way, manipulate or coerce others.
